Why is the battery not discharging to the house?
There could be many reasons that a Battery is not discharging to the house; here are a few things to check.
Is your Dura-i in in the wrong mode? The inverter must be in ‘self-consumption’ mode for the inverter to discharge the batteries to the load. ‘Back Up mode’ will prioritise the battery being charged by any PV, so if charging a battery, it will not be able to discharge at the same time.-
- Is the battery select correct?
- For Hybrid: Battery is automatically selected as Dura 5. This select will not cause an alarm if using the Dura 16 battery but does not allow the battery to function.
- Parallel: Ensure that all inverters have the same battery selected. As well as this, ensure that the battery connect type is the same on all inverters, whether batteries are selected as ‘parallel’ or ‘independence’. For further information on Parallel, see the Guide

Ensure all power cables are connected securely. When connecting the Amphenol connectors, push them firmly into place until you hear a distinct click. This click confirms that the connector is fully engaged and correctly secured.
- Is the battery select correct?

- Check the inverter firmware is on the latest release. Some inverters are still on older firmware that does not work with all batteries. For example, the Dura 16 must be on at least V201 for G3 and V451 for G2.
- Has the inverter got any active alarms that are causing the inverter to remain in standby mode?
- Has the power button on the inverter been manually pressed? This will cause the inverter to return to standby mode, therefore not allowing the system to function.
- Have any preset scheduled charges been set on either the Dura-i or Duracell Energy App?
