How do I get the maximum charge and discharge rates out of my Dura-i inverter?
Excess Solar
‘Optimal conditions’ is where the system has enough solar to supply the house load and has an excess of solar to be able to charge the battery at the same time of the scheduled charges. For example, if a 3.6k inverter has 1kw of excess solar and a scheduled charge at the same time the battery can be charged at 4kw, 1kw coming from the solar and 3kw from the grid.
Battery Cell Temperature
Temperature considerations are mostly linked with the batteries behaviours. Low or high temperatures triggers the BMS (Battery Management System) to protect the cells to limit battery degradation, this is usually displayed in a charge/discharge performance chart.
We use Lithium-ion Phosphate Cells within our batteries, which is highest performing and the safest form of Lithium on the Market
SOC % (State of Charge)
Low or high battery percentages, also triggers the BMS to protect the cells to limit battery degradation.
For Example, if the Battery is reaching the top end of its SOC, >95% (voltage dependant) the battery charge rate will also slow down to protect the cells.
