# I already have solar—can I add a Duracell battery?

You can add a battery to an existing solar array, but it depends on a few things.

First, is your solar inverter a hybrid model? (Is it capable of interpreting the solar energy directly from the solar panels and storing it in a battery) If the answer is no, then you would need to contact an approved installer who can advise you on the next steps if you are still interested in a Duracell Energy solar and battery system.

If you do have a hybrid inverter, it still needs to be compatible with one of our battery systems. For a guide on which inverters are compatible with Duracell Energy batteries, please see below:

If the above table shows your inverter is compatible with our current batteries, please **[visit our website](https://duracellenergy.com/en/)** where you can request a dedicated quote from one of our approved installers.

If your current hybrid inverter is not compatible with our current generation of batteries, then you will have to look to replace your current inverter, which an installer can do.

Please note: If using a non-Duracell Energy inverter, the size needs to be restricted to a maximum of 5 kW for safety reasons, whilst using the cables that are supplied in the box.

All inverters shown above are single-phase inverters.
