How to use a CHINT remote Energy Meter with the Dura-i G3 inverter?
An REM (Remote Energy Meter) should always be used in the event that the main incoming supply is further than 25m from the location of the Dura-i inverter.
Dura-i G3 is currently compatible with one meter, the CHINT DDSU666. Watch our how-to video below, see the steps underneath the video, or for further information, see the REM Grid Meter Guide for Dura-i G3
Step 1
Connect the CAT-5 communications cable. Using only 2 cores - White & Orange in PORT 24 and Orange in PORT 25.
Step 2
Using CAT-5 cable, connect port 24 on the meter to port 1 on the RS485 port at the base of the Dura-i and connect port 25 on the meter to port 3 on the RS485 port on the Dura-i G3.
Step 3
Power on the inverter using the correct startup procedure – PV > Battery > AC
Step 4
Open the Dura-i app and select settings. Then, select quick settings.
Scroll down to the section titled “Power Control” and check that Digital Power Meter is the only option ticked.
Then, scroll further down to the section titled Meter Type. Select CHINT DDSU666 and this is the process is complete.
