How to use a Carlo Gavazzi meter with the Dura-i G3 for AC coupled installs?

The AC Couple function on the Dura-i Inverter is designed to allow the end user the ability to smartly control consumption and storage of energy generated by previously installed solar panels. The Dura-i will work with the already installed PV inverter to smartly allocate the generated power to be distributed more efficiently.

This guide covers all steps post inverter installation; therefore you must ensure the inverter is installed correctly before moving onto using the Carlo Gavazzi meter.

The Carlo Gavazzi EM330 meter will be provided by Duracell Energy and will come pre wired. Before your install, you will need to contact Duracell Energy to obtain a meter for your install.

Step 1

Connect the CAT-5 communications cable. Using only 2 cores connect the orange cable into port 11 and the orange and white cable into port 11 of the meter.

Step 2

Push the selected CAT 5 cores into the 10-pin port (orange into port 9, orange and white into port 7 of the 10-pin port).

Step 3

Insert the 10-pin plug into the RS485 / Meter / CT port

Step 4

In the Dura-i app, and select settings.

Then select quick settings and scroll down to the “Other” section and select the AC coupling toggle to turn it on.

Then tap RS485 device and make sure the Gavazzi/ET/EM300 series is selected from the list.
