How to extend the CT connection for a Dura-IG3 inverter installation
When the distance between the inverter and the main electricity supply (consumer unit) exceeds 10 meters, the CT clamps on the Dura-iG3 can be extended by up to 15 meters.
For installations where the energy storage system is more than 25 meters from the main electricity supply, an REM (Remote Energy Monitor) can be used to assist. For more details on a REM installation, please see our Grid Meter Guide for the Dura-i G3.
Step 1
Unscrew the comms block at the bottom of the G3 inverter – this is where the CT is going to go.
Note: The CT clamp is included within the Dura-iG3 box
Step 2
Ensure the wires are positioned in the same order as if they were going into the 10-pin plug.
Step 3
Match these wires to the wires in your CAT 5, and using WAGOS wire connectors, connect the two cables together.
Note: WAGOS are not included within the Dura-I G3 box; you will need to source these separately.
Step 4
Push the selected CAT 5 cores into the 10-pin port (Black into 4, Red into 6, Yellow into 8, and Green into 10).
Step 5
Insert the 10-pin plug into the RS485 / Meter / CT port – ensure the plug has been inserted correctly and that each core of the CT is not loose.
