How do I perform a system reset on my Duracell Energy system?
Shut down
Step 1
Turn off any Consumer Unit (Fusebox) wired from the *back up port by turning the Main Switch off, usually RED. (Some systems might not have this connected, so don’t panic if there isn’t anything.)
*back up port - a back up port is located under the inverter, if connected it provides power to certain circuits, which in the event of a power cut, these circuits will become powered by your battery.
Step 2
Turn off the *Grid Power going to the inverter, this is usually a red and yellow circular isolator switch within 1 meter of the inverter.
*Grid Power - this will typically be the power that your energy supplier provides to the property. This power gets distributed into specific circuits via a main consumer unit (fusebox). This is typically AC power. For individual products like an inverter, cooker or shower, there should be a visible and accessible means of isolation; by turning this to the off position, this will stop all AC power going to and from the grid.
Step 3
Turn off the Batteries individually (for Dura 5 on top of the battery, for Dura16 on the Right-hand side of the battery) by both the round button (should be green/red) until no light is showing, and the breaker to the downward position. Have a look for any additional battery isolator that may be between the Inverter and the 1st battery; turn this also off.
Step 4
Turn off the Solar to the inverter; this usually will be a black and grey circular isolator within 1 meter of the inverter. If there is no isolator present, turn the switch labelled ‘PV Switch’ underneath the inverter for Dura-i G2 models, and on the left-hand side of the inverter for the Dura-i G3
Step 5
Wait for 5 mins – this gives a chance for the inverter and battery capacitors to fully discharge.
Repeat the process again in reverse
Start up
Step 6
Turn the Solar back on via the black and grey isolator and turn on the ‘PV switch’ on the inverter.
Step 7
Turn the Batteries back on individually, firstly via the breaker and then the button (this should now have a green light). If there was an additional battery isolator between the Inverter and the 1st battery, turn this back on also.
Step 8
Turn the *Grid Power going to the inverter back on; this is usually a red and yellow isolator.
Step 9
Turn back on the consumer unit wired into the* backup port, if there was one.
