Can I use my EV charger as a simple plug-and-charge device?
Some EV drivers prefer a simple charging experience without apps, Wi-Fi connections, charging schedules, or smart charging controls.
In plug-and-play mode, your EV charger works like a traditional appliance – simply plug in your vehicle and charging will begin, with your car managing the charging process. Here's how to switch your charger into plug-and-play mode.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Switch Your Phone to Airplane Mode
Ensure your phone is in airplane mode to prevent interruptions.
- Enable Wi-Fi on Your Phone
Open your phone’s settings and turn on Wi-Fi.
- Connect to the Charger’s Network
-
- Look for the charger’s serial number in the list of available Wi-Fi networks.
-
- If the serial number doesn’t appear:
-
- Reset the breaker for the charger and turn it back on.
-
- Wait a few minutes for the charger to restart and try again.
-
- Use the password admin123 to connect to the network.
4. Access the Charger Interface
-
- Open your internet browser (Safari, Google Chrome, etc.).
-
- Enter 192.168.4.1 in the address bar and navigate to the page.
5. Enter the PIN Code
-
- If prompted, enter the 4-digit PIN code for your charger.
-
- Your PIN code – this will have been in the box on a sticker when the charger was installed (also found on the side of your DuraCharger).
6. Adjust the Settings
-
- On the interface, look for an option in blue labelled Charger Setup and select it.
-
- Choose Plug-and-Charge Mode and confirm the setting.
7. Confirm Plug-and-Play Mode
-
- Finalise your settings by selecting Plug-and-Play Mode and confirming.
NOTE: This will leave the charger open for anyone to use the charger without consent
